i have no idea what they were thinking putting this product on the shelves much less to replace the original honey and shea which is amazing! granted i had to mix the original with their body oil to make it less sticky but after i did that it was perfection! the scent of this product was almost enough to make me boycott all bb's products on principal alone! it smells horrendous, is watery, actually makes my skin feel rougher after it had soaked in. i sent it back the very next day after i received it. please please please bring back the original!

Not what I expected August 11, 2011

Ever since discovering Burt's Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey and Shea Butter several years ago I have been in love with it and have started using other Burt's Bees products as a result. Unfortunately it seems that this Honey and Shea Body Butter is replacing the old product, and as much as I hate to say it I will not be purchasing this product. The consistency is similar to the old product, but the smell is completely different and not appealing to me. I can't stand to put it on my arms because the scent is so overwhelming and almost chemically. Why did they have to change the perfect product?

Love This Stuff July 16, 2011

Yummy, very hydrating and soothing, no sticky residue. I use it on my face as well as my body. Shea butter is the best thing you can do for your skin; the next best is honey. It's win-win.

New but not so "improved" July 02, 2011

I've used the older version of this product for years and I have loved it. I just got a container of the new version today. I used to love the smell and the texture. The new version smells completely different and has a different texture. If you do fine with the Cocoa and Macadamia Nut body butter they also produce, you'll probably do fine with this new product as well, since it smells more like it. It has more of a light coconut scent mixed with other things that interestingly enough smell sort of like play dough to me. I personally can't stand that particular smell at all. Hopefully Burt's Bees will reconsider and change the scent to match the old version of the product. The texture is completely different as well. It is much more like a heavy lotion. The batch I received had ingredients that were not mixed well, so it could just be a bad batch since I've never had that problem before with any of their other great products. The pros are that it does absorb into the skin better and doesn't have that slightly sticky feeling after application it used to have. Hopefully the company will release this to replace their other product that already smells like this and release a new version that smells like the old version of the Honey and Shea Butter. Otherwise, I won't be buying this product ever again.
