Very Volumizing Pomegranate Shampoo
Dry and Greasy
This product stripped my hair. I didn't use a lot and only twice a week, but it left my hair dull and brittle. I have curly hair that needs to be well-moisturized. I made the mistake of trying this product, which has alcohol in the first couple of ingredients. To overcompensate for the lack of moisture my hair became oily. I had my boyfriend try the shampoo/conditioner and he had similar results even though he doesn't have hair that tends to be on the drier side. Overall the consistency, lathering, and rinsing just didn't seem right.

I just purchased this shampoo and conditioner duo, so this morning was the first time I used it, and let me tell you, I can tell right away if a product will work for me or not. My hair turned out beautiful! I mean like, perfect, bouncy, model hair. It's been a few hours since I curled my hair, and I normally have to worry about my hair falling flat, but it hasn't yet. The performance of this combo isn't even the best thing about it. What has me almost in tears is how it did not cause any irritation with my skin. I have been suffering from acne, mainly on my back, for I can't even tell you how long. Most products break me out instantly after using them. This one has not. In fact, not to get too gross, but some of the severe acne on my back has turned scab-like, as if it is healing and drying up. I have never found a product that made my hair look so wonderful and also didn't break me out. I used to have to chose one or the other. Please never stop making this. I never tried the old version, so I can't compare it to that, but I can tell you I haven't had any of the issues other reviewers talked about. Everyone's hair is different though. But, if you are looking for a volumizing product and have sensitive skin like me, I would definitely give it a try! Thank you Burt's Bees! :)

Bring Back Original
I was a HUGE fan of the original formulas. I have absolutely no idea why Burt's Bees decided to change. The new formula leaves a heavy residue that was never there before. It foams differently, but the old formula always washed out cleanly and was just as gentle. I tried to love this...but it doesn't even compare to the original formula.

For certain types of hair...
I purchased this product about 3 weeks ago. I have already had to purchase more, because the size of the bottle and amount of contents is absolutely a small amount.
I have long, thin but frizzy hair and it gets oily at the top and dry (crackling) at the tips.
This product works very well for me. I have found that using the conditioner after squeezing out most of the water and applying almost a palm full at my tips is what works best for me.
Our first 16 year old is mixed with black/white with curly poofy type hair and she has had great results. Although, again, she has to use 75% of the conditioner, if not the entire bottle, in ONE washing.
Our second 16 year old is Native American with bone straight, thick hair. It leaves her hair kind of oily.
Our 14 year old is Native American and has thick, wavy/frizzy hair. I works about the same as any other shampoo and conditioner combo that we have used. Nothing new, nothing worse for her head.
Over all, this product seems to do well with people who have very textured hair. I do not think the length or thickness matters except for the fact that at $8-10 a bottle, you will be spending more than expected to achieve great results. We have spent around a small fortune on this product because the sizes are just too tiny. And with the results we get from Mane'nTail being so similar, we will be switching back because we can get Mane'nTail for about $6 for a huge bottle.
