One Young World Summit
As an emerging global brand, Burt's Bees is proud to sponsor the inaugural One Young World Summit in London this February. Fifteen hundred youth delegates (age 19-25) from 192 countries will meet to devise global solutions and actionable plans to the world’s shared challenges. Delegates will be guided by renowned thought leaders like Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan, Bob Geldolf and Mohammad Yunus.
Burt's Bees Will Be There!
John Replogle, our CEO joins a roster of pivotal leaders speaking at the Summit. He will address the critical role that business plays in driving positive global change. Burt’s Bees is sponsoring 10 delegates from around the world (Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea and the UK) to attend the summit, and will be inviting these rising stars to help shape the company’s future policies on sustainability and social responsibility during 2010. not seem an obvious choice for a One Young World advocate, until you pair it with a Politics Major and international volunteering. With the ability to solve the most intricate
of problems whilst demonstrating in-depth knowledge of international leadership and relations, Steven Burnside cannot wait to have his say at One Young World.
Fiona Paton With a list of accolades dating back to her school days, it is little wonder Fiona Paton was selected as one of six Australians to attend the National Genesis Science and Technology Forum (2003) and most recently, chosen as one of 16 Australian Postgraduate Students to attend Climate Science and Humanities at Harvard University.
Canada
Majd Steitieh High school senior Majd Steitieh is not to be
underestimated! Aged 18, Majd is passionate about environmental issues and has a firm commitment to creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable society. Majd was
awarded the Qatar Today Green Award (judged by UNESCO) for her instrumental role in establishing the first harnessing renewable energy scheme, and co-founded HOPE (Help Our
Planet Earth), her schools environmental group, of which she is now president.

Yoojin choi From debating global issues in school, Yoojin now hopes to
create a greener society by encouraging sustainable and energy efficient living at all levels; from families becoming more aware in their homes, to large global enterprises
changing environmental policies.Japan
Junya Tanaka Born and raised in Japan but graduated from Soka
University, California, with a Social and Behavioural Science Degree, Junya Tanaka has experienced intercultural communication first-hand. With a degree concentrating on
psychology, sociology and education, and other personal attributes including activist, poet and translator, Junya hopes to integrate various humanitarian issues from human
rights, to development and poverty, to climate change.

Iris Andrews Boasted by Vogue as the blonde knuckle-popping dynamo
in its 2010 Bright Young Things feature, cited by The Guardian as one of the faces of Britains future, and celebrated as an inspirational individual in the 2006 Exceptional
Youth exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Iris Andrews is an environmental fighting force to be reckoned with; her inspiration - the Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari
Muta Maathai.
Arran Stewart Biting at the heels of Dragons Dens James Caan and Theo
Paphitis is young entrepreneur Arran Stewart. Born and raised in an area considered to have below average economic activity, Arran strives to create opportunities for those from
any financial background. With a Degree, Masters and two businesses under his belt, One Young World is an opportunity for Arran to be a voice for those who would not normally be
heard.

Mindy Nichamin A double major in journalism and international
studies, with a concentration in global health/environment, Mindy Nichamin hopes to engage her peers and create a series of sustainable policies to help improve global health.
It is an area she intends to pursue in her graduate studies and she relishes the opportunity to learn more and influence its decision at One Young World.
Erin Schrode Described in the media as one of the leading young green
movers in this country, a sustainability prodigy, and the face of the new green generation, Erin Schrode hopes to inspire her peers to take action and make the world a more
sustainable place. Highlighted as a teen expert in eco-responsible living, Erin has appeared on major American television networks including, NBC, ABC, FOX and Discovery.
Interviewed or featured in the New York Times, New York Post, National Geographic, Seventeen, and Green Living amongst many others. Erin is the host of weekly radio show Super
Natural Teens on Progressive Radio Network and is regularly interviewed on KCBS, KGO, Alice 97.3, Movin 99.7 and Live 105.
Staci Soloway Staci has a solid commitment to working for companies with
strong social responsibilities, so securing a sustainability internship at Burts Bees, leaders in the natural personal care industry, was a perfect fit. With an MBA partnered
with a Degree in Environmental Science and Policy, Staci aspires to make sustainable changes to the world of CSR and proposes an 80% reduction in global CO2 by 2020.
