What is Natural?

Unfortunately, that is not always the case. In fact, some brands that are labeled "natural" have virtually no natural ingredients at all.

Ingredients

At Burt's Bees, we hold to the highest standards of natural. Our products average 99% natural with half being 100%. All our ingredients are highly effective and, of course, totally safe.

Processes

Ingredients are only one part of what makes a product natural, though. How those ingredients are processed is equally important. We prefer to use "Kitchen Chemistry" or in other words, minimal processing that maximizes purity.

And we don't believe in testing products or ingredients of any kind on animals.

With all these factors at play, we want to help you understand what truly natural personal care products really are so you can make informed decisions about the products you use. To do that, we're Setting The Natural Standard, which we believe all brands claiming to be natural should adopt. We believe it's a good first step for us all.
