Pledge to make one

#ChangeForNature today.

We need nature. And now, nature needs us.

Choose a Pledge:

Burt’s Bees donated $10 per pledge for the first 10,000 pledges, for a total donation of $100,000, to the National Geographic Society to help fund their efforts to reduce individual plastic consumption and the flow of plastics into watersheds. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

A FUTURE WITHOUT NATURE

IS NO FUTURE AT ALL.

By making a pledge, you're doing your part to help support the future of nature.

Here’s the problem.
(You can be part of the solution.)

By 2030, scientists estimate that there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And, each year, more than a million seabirds and more than 100,000 marine mammals are killed by plastic debris.

Our urban and suburban homes are disconnected from nature. We spend a lot of time indoors and looking at screens, and mental and physical health issues are on the rise. It’s been proven that people are healthier and happier after reconnecting with nature.

The meat we eat takes tons of water, land and energy to raise, and is responsible for up to 78% of food-related greenhouse-gas emissions.

Thirty percentof all the food we buy is wasted, and most unused food ends up in landfills, accounting for 8% of total global greenhouse gas emissions.

Less than one percent of the Earth’s water can be used by humans, and we can only survive a week without it, yet each person in the U.S. uses an average of 88 gallons of water per day.

What it takes to make a change

make a change

They say it takes 66 days to make a new habit for yourself. When you pledge to make a change to support nature’s future, you’re starting something that could really last and make an impact on your life—and the future of the planet.

We’re all in this together.

Nothing that we do at Burt’s Bees would be possible without nature, which is why we’re always thinking about how we can support a more sustainable future for nature—and all of us!

We are CarbonNeutral® certified (since 2015) and invest in solar energy. Find out more about how we’re reducing our carbon footprint.

We’ve had landfill-free operations since 2011, and we compost all food and most product waste. We also offset our annual water consumption through watershed restoration projects.

We don’t test on animals and all of our products are Leaping Bunny Certified.

The Burt’s Bees Foundation has issued $3.5 million in grants to support honeybee health and biodiversity, and our employees put in more than 2500 volunteer hours annually to support our community partners. Read More

We avoid over-packaging, use high levels of post-consumer recycled material and ensure our packaging is recyclable either curbside or through TerraCycle.

There is an average of 52% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content in our plastics. We joined the inaugural Ocean Plastic Summit to work with the industry to address the ocean plastic problem. Read More

With your help, big change is possible.

One pledge to make one change might not seem like much, but just look at how the support for each pledge is stacking up.
