DIGGING INTO HEMP

Learn why we tapped into this super plant for our line of Hemp skin care and lip care.

For all the talk about what it is, what it isn’t, who can grow it and who should use it, there’s one thing on which nearly everyone agrees: Hemp is a remarkable plant.

Hemp History

The name “Hemp” is often used to refer to the entire genus of flowering plants otherwise known as Cannabis. The Hemp plant has been used to create textiles and paper for thousands of years, and it’s sustainable, thanks to a lightning-fast grow rate. Its fiber and seeds can be used to create building materials, food for people and animals, biodiesel fuel and more.

Some strains of the Cannabis plant contain the chemical compound known as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which has psychoactive properties. The Hemp that’s used for industrial, food or personal care uses, however, has only trace amounts of this compound (0.3% or less), so it’s not psychoactive. (In other words, you won’t be feeling any kind of buzz when you use these products.)

Our Hemp Collection

We use Hemp Seed Oil to enrich our line of Hemp skin care and lip care products because it’s an incredibly powerful hydrator. It’s rich in Vitamin E and contains perfectly balanced omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to keep skin feeling soft and healthy. And again, the Hemp Seed Oil we use in our Hemp products is not psychoactive, so they won’t intoxicate you. (They do have a fresh Basil and Verbena scent, though, which is its own kind of intoxicating.) Try them and see how powerfully hydrating our Hemp products can be!
